I haven't completed a first draft yet that I'm brave enough to share with my writer critique group but there is one thing I've good at, baking. Come Thanksgiving I make a mean perfect pie.
It starts with a store bought pie shell because I refuse to make one from scratch - I am not wasting my time or making myself frustrated doing something I hate. Love won't go into a pie I've cursed in the process. Making a pie crust is simply not something I will master. What goes inside, that I can do! I also do a mean quick bread but fail at a good muffin - that is an irony that pesters me.
