More than half the world already experiences in the inequality now rearing its head everywhere. But for that half not used to it the fear is palatable every moment. The fear is in their eyes, the reality dawning and growing. A commodity that is all they are. No other value. All that had been gained, gone.
That was how my first NaNoWriMo attempt started.
It finished 1,644 words in. It was also the fall my mother went into Hospice. She passed away on January 1, 2011. Not only did I not finish unfortunately another consequence of grief was loosing the will and desire to read books. Something we'd done together religiously when I was a child and a habit that until then was so much a part of my being I couldn't understand what was happening.
Thankfully it only lasted a year and by September of 2011 I'd started writing with a passion. Getting 30K done in just a little over a month. It was time to try NaNoWriMo again.
Five times to be exact and five wins because I found that not only did I love the process I couldn't resist their "winner" tee shirts. If I bought one the only way I could wear it was to win. So I did.
